You have the right to ask us about the type of advice we will give you, our charges and what you can do if you have a complaint about our services.

Purpose and content
This FSG informs you of certain basic matters relating to our relationship, prior to us providing you with a financial service.
This FSG contains important information required under the Corporations Act 2001.
The matters covered by the FSG include:
• who we are;
• how we can be contacted;
• what services we are authorised to provide to you;
• how we (and any other relevant parties) are remunerated;
• details of any potential conflicts of interest; and
• details of the dispute resolution procedures of Elders Insurance (Underwriting Agency) Pty Limited and how you can access them.
This FSG is intended to help you in determining if you wish to use any of the services described below.

We are authorised to provide general advice and factual information only. This means that any advice provided does not take into account your personal objectives, financial situation or needs. You should consider whether the advice is appropriate for your circumstances before acting on it. We do not provide personal advice and will not issue a Statement of Advice. Before making any decision about a product, you should read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) to ensure it meets your needs.

What financial services are you authorised to provide me?
The authorised representative is authorised by Elders Insurance (Underwriting Agency) Pty Limited to provide general advice, deal in general insurance products. If an authorised representative has claims authority they can provide certain claims handling and settling services in relation to those products, such as assisting a customer to make a claim, deciding whether to accept or reject a claim, and quantifying and settling a claim. In this FSG we refer to a General Insurance Policy as a 'policy'.
Who do you act for when you provide financial services to me?
Our products are underwritten by QBE Insurance (Australia) Limited ABN 78 003 191 035, AFSL 239545 (referred to as QBE or the insurer). When dealing in general insurance products, QBE as the insurer of the product and we, as their agent, do not act on your behalf. When we issue, vary or cancel a policy, we are acting on behalf of the insurer.
In addition, when we deal with and settle claims relating to these policies, we are acting on behalf of the insurer.
How are you paid for the services provided?
We receive commission which is paid by the insurer when you purchase a product we arrange. This payment ranges from 4% to 30% of the total premium you pay.
Our authorised representatives and employees receive an annual salary and may receive a bonus for achieving certain profitability targets.
You may also incur a discretionary service fee ("Service Fee") in addition to the premium you pay for the product. Any applicable Service Fee is only charged when you purchase a product we arrange and will be commensurate with the amount of advice and service provided. For personal and landlords policies, this charge is up to $99 (inc. GST) and for farm, business, liability, and commercial property insurance, this charge is up to $990 (inc. GST). If a Service Fee applies, the amount will be disclosed to you at the time of us providing you with our advice and/or service, or as soon as practicable after that time.
Elders Insurance (Underwriting Agency) Pty Limited pays Elders Rural Services Australia Limited ABN 72 004 045 121 a Network Access Fee equal to 1.5% of the base premium for the right to market, distribute and sell products under the Elders brand.
Where someone else has referred you to us, they may be paid a fee, commission or other benefit in relation to that referral.
At any time, you may request particulars of the remuneration or other benefits received by us or other persons in relation to the product we offer you.
Do any relationships or associations exist which might influence you in providing me with financial services?
Elders Insurance is 80% owned by QBE Holdings (AAP) Pty Limited ABN 26 000 005 881 and 20% owned by Elders Rural Services Australia Limited. QBE Holdings (AAP) Pty Limited and QBE Insurance (Australia) Limited are members of QBE Insurance Group Limited.
What information do you maintain in my file and can I examine my file?
We maintain a record of your personal profile including details of your relevant personal circumstances, objectives and general insurance needs. We also maintain records of any recommendations[JL1] made to you and any policies purchased by you.
We are committed to implementing and promoting our privacy policy, which will ensure the privacy and security of your personal information. A copy of the EIUA privacy policy is available from any Elders Insurance office or from the website www.eldersinsurance.com.au/Privacy.
If you wish to examine your file please ask us and we will make arrangements for you to do so.
How can I give instructions about my financial product/s?
You can give instructions to us by telephone, email, face to face, or fax.
Making a complaint
All complaints related to Elders Insurance (Underwriting Agency) Pty Limited are managed through the QBE complaints and disputes process. The complaints and disputes resolution service is available to you free of charge.
What do I do if I have a complaint?
Please contact the authorised representative dealing with your matter and they’ll try to resolve your complaint. You can also contact our Customer Relations team directly. When you make your complaint please provide as much information as possible including your policy number and/or claim number. If you’ve contacted Customer Relations directly, where appropriate, they’ll refer your complaint to a manager in the relevant business area to resolve within 5 business days.

If your complaint can’t be resolved to your satisfaction by a manager in the relevant business area, then Customer Relations will review the matter. This is known as a Stage 1 review.
Should Customer Relations be unable to resolve your complaint, they’ll escalate it for an Internal Dispute Resolution (IDR) review by a Dispute Resolution Specialist in QBE’s Dispute Resolution Team.
Professional Indemnity Policy
The authorised representative has a professional indemnity (PI) policy in place which satisfies the requirements for the compensation arrangements under section 912B of the Corporations Act 2001.
The PI policy covers the authorised representative and its employees (including former employees) for claims made against them by clients as a result of their conduct in the provision of financial services.
