In Melbourne’s beautiful Yarra Valley, Natalie Sferruzzi has run Elders Insurance Lilydale for just over 12 months. To say Natalie has hit the ground running is an understatement. She’s quickly built a business with personalised service at its core.
“My clients are not just a number to me – they are the people I want to work with. That’s why I provide the best service I can.”
In her early years, Natalie cut her teeth working in wineries and restaurants, where she honed her exemplary people skills and passion for providing great service.
In 2004, Natalie decided to give up working every weekend with a move to a call centre in insurance. She hasn’t looked back.
“I fell in love with insurance from the very start. I love building relationships with my clients and showing them I’m someone they can trust.”
“My favourite quote is ‘The real opportunity for success lies within the person and not in the job.’ It’s all about how much you put in, and how hard you work.”
And that clearly shows in Natalie’s work ethic.
“I got to where I am now through hard work and dedication, and learning from people who have been in the industry longer than me.”
As a broker, Natalie was frustrated by being told that if the account wasn’t big enough, she shouldn’t bother quoting on it. That’s why she was drawn to Elders Insurance, which is personalised and customer-centric.
“Elders Insurance stands for honesty and integrity, which ties in perfectly with my values. I am honest, to the point and always ask my customers how they are.”
As a working Mum, Natalie’s days are crazy-busy.
“A typical day for me is dropping off the kids, then returning back home to process new quotes and endorsements. I’ll also provide advice to my clients over the phone whenever they need my help. Then it’s back out to pick up my girls, and once they’re in bed I’ll jump back on the laptop.”
“I love working at night when it’s nice and quiet. My customers know they can call me any time – after hours, weekends, whenever.”
Natalie’s children are never far from her mind.
“At the moment, we’re big on dance-a-thons in the kitchen. I love seeing my kids happy. In fact, my proudest achievement is my two beautiful girls, full of love and laughter.”
There’s plenty of laughter on the job too – even when it comes to claims.
“Once a person tripped over a speed bump at a local shopping centre, and tried to sue our client for a ripped pair of pants. They claimed the speed bump shouldn’t have been there!”
In the future, Natalie plans to further her connections within the local community. She is committed to actively supporting the local community for the long term.
It’s clear that Natalie is well on her way.
